# How are you paid for company data? Three models

> How are you paid for company data? A data partnership payment (micro1), a revenue share on every deal (Troveo) or a fee per task. Self-reported, dated.

## The short answer

Company data pays out under three models. A direct partnership pays under the agreed terms, and micro1's page lists tiers of $100K+ to $1M+. A revenue share pays on every deal. A per-task payment ran about $700 to $800, per micro1's CFO in an undated talk. All figures are self-reported.

The three models differ in who carries the risk of a later sale and when the money arrives.

## How is a direct partnership structured?

[micro1](/buyers/micro1) describes compensation under the agreed data partnership, and it says companies keep ownership of their underlying data. Confirm licensed uses, duration, exclusivity and payment structure in the proposed agreement.

In an undated recorded forum talk, David Revland, who works on human data at micro1, described the corpus track as one transfer, then verification, then payment.

[Mercor's page](https://www.mercor.com/data/) says it licenses the data, packages it and pays you: a wire on delivery, typically within 2 to 4 weeks of the signed agreement.

## How does a revenue share pay for company data?

[Troveo's business data page](https://www.troveo.ai/business-data) says you are paid "on every sale, not just the first," and that the first sale is the floor. It does not publish the percentage. ## How does micro1's per-task pay work?

In micro1's workflows track, employees use a general-purpose AI agent on real work and grade it. micro1's CFO said in an undated recorded forum talk that a completed task pays about $700 to $800 and takes a couple of hours.

## What else do buyers promise?

[Handshake AI's page](https://joinhandshake.com/ai/data-partnerships/) gives an indicative range of $100K to $4M or more depending on the data shared, and says it is an estimate and not an offer.

## What should you ask about payment?

- Is it one payment, repeat payments or per task?
- When is it due, and what must happen first?
- Who deducts what before the money reaches you?
