## The short answer

In the Google Admin console, open Menu and choose Storage. You need the Storage administrator privilege. The page shows Workspace storage used against your limit, split across Drive, Gmail and Photos. It lists top users and shared drives. Changes take up to 24 hours to appear.

The [Storage page](https://knowledge.workspace.google.com/admin/storage/review-storage-use-across-your-organization) is the quickest organization-wide view.

## What are the steps?

Open the Admin console, click Menu, then Storage. The top of the page shows usage against your limit. Below it, a summary lists the users with the highest storage, and a "View all users" link opens a ranked list. A matching summary lists shared drives, with "View all shared drives" for the full ranking.

## What does the number include?

Google Workspace storage is shared between Drive, Gmail and Photos. Pointing at a section of the usage bar gives each service's part. A mailbox-heavy company can show a large total with a small Drive.

The total says nothing about what you may license. Shared drives hold files that clients and partners own.

## Where is a per-user Drive figure?

[Google's Apps usage report](https://knowledge.workspace.google.com/admin/reports/user-reports-apps-usage) lists Drive storage per user in megabytes. [micro1 Google Drive data](/answers/micro1-google-drive-data) gives that path and the sum.

## Does storage size matter to micro1?

[micro1](/buyers/micro1)'s pages state no data-size threshold. A storage total still helps you describe your records. See [how to check your storage](/answers/does-my-company-have-1-tb-of-data) and [micro1's requirements](/answers/micro1-data-partnership-requirements). No price follows from size alone, and no outcome is promised.

## Can an admin export the data?

[Google's Data Export tool](https://knowledge.workspace.google.com/admin/migrate/export-all-your-organizations-data) needs a super administrator account at least 30 days old with 2-Step Verification on and Google Cloud activated. Exports usually take 72 hours and can take up to 14 days, after a 48-hour security wait. Files in the Google-provided bucket are deleted 60 days after the export starts.

In a micro1 corpus deal, micro1's CFO said in an undated recorded forum talk that its engineers help your IT people with the transfer. See [what a data manifest form asks](/answers/what-is-a-data-manifest-form).

Figure: steps Admin console, Menu, Storage -> Read usage against limit -> Open top users and drives. Google's Storage page shows usage against your limit, then the users and shared drives using the most.
