## The short answer

SimpleClosure looks real. It has a named CEO, Dori Yona, more than $20M raised and published terms. Trustpilot shows 4.1 of 5 from 27 reviews. Its Asset Hub fees are not public. Gizmodo reported the Center for AI and Digital Policy's founder calling employee privacy a key concern.

## So, is SimpleClosure legit?

The company checks out. It has a named entity, named people, named investors and public terms. Two things stay open: what Asset Hub charges, and who must hold the consent of the people inside your data. Under the terms, that duty is yours.

## What can be checked about SimpleClosure?

It reported that the Center wrote to the Senate Commerce Committee urging stronger FTC oversight of AI companies. |

## What is Asset Hub?

It lets a founder who is closing a company sell or license source code, workspace data and other assets to vetted buyers. Its [AssetHub page](https://simpleclosure.com/product/assethub/) now says operating companies can license too.

Source code launched first. Workspace data, covering email, Slack, Notion and Drive, was in beta at launch ([Yahoo Finance](https://finance.yahoo.com/sectors/technology/articles/simpleclosure-launches-asset-hub-unlock-130000668.html)).

Figure: range, Asset Hub deal, per company, $10K to $100K. Forbes reported Asset Hub deals that varied tenfold per company. Source: Forbes, as reported by Gizmodo.

## What do SimpleClosure's terms say about your data?

SimpleClosure's license can include emails and messaging exports. The terms say [SimpleClosure](/buyers/simpleclosure) may sell or license the assets after a completed acquisition. They also ask you to state that you hold the consents from the people whose data is inside.

> **The terms give SimpleClosure a broad license to use what you submit.** It's like renting out a room where the tenant may sublet. Read who can move in.

That consent duty is the live issue in this market. Our [rights check](/rights-check) and [risk map](/risks) show what to confirm first.

## Who is SimpleClosure for?

Startups that are winding down and want the shutdown handled with their assets licensed or sold. Its AssetHub page says operating companies can license too. To compare other routes, the [buyer directory](/buyers) lists them.
