## The short answer

micro1's pages ask for companies that operate primarily in English, with English documentation and workflows. They give no percentage. An undated micro1 forum talk named about 80%, which is historical context. I found nothing on how micro1 measures the share.

Language is one of several criteria in the [micro1 data partnership](/guides/micro1-data-partnership). The [requirements page](/answers/micro1-data-partnership-requirements) lists the rest.

## What does micro1 say about language?

The [data partnerships page](https://www.micro1.ai/data-partnerships) describes companies that operate in English and maintain their documentation, workflows and knowledge bases in English. The [referral page](https://www.micro1.ai/company-referral) says "primarily English".

Neither page gives a percentage. In an undated recorded forum talk, David Revland, who works on human data at micro1, gave an earlier figure of about 80% or more in English. Treat that as history and go by the pages.

## How does micro1 count "primarily English"?

I don't know. Nothing I read says whether the share is counted by volume, by file count or by message. Ask micro1 on the first call.

## Which records does the language rule cover?

The data page names SOPs, knowledge bases, internal documentation, CRM data, project histories and QA processes as the kinds of data it seeks. Whether the share counts every message or only documents like these is not stated.

## What if your records mix languages?

Work out the rough split in your main tools before you apply. The [data manifest form](/answers/what-is-a-data-manifest-form) asks for tools and rough sizes, so a language estimate per tool fits naturally beside it.

If you sit near the line, ask micro1 how it counts and keep the reply in writing.

## Will the language rule change?

micro1's David Revland said in the undated talk that other languages may come later. He gave no date and no list. The current pages still say primarily English, so plan around that.

## Does language interact with the other criteria?

Yes, in the sense that all of them apply together. micro1's current public criteria list 30+ employees, mature operations and primarily English documentation, with US companies prioritized.

Acceptance depends on its review and current demand. See the [minimum employees page](/answers/micro1-data-partnership-minimum-employees) for the staff side.

Run the [rights check](/rights-check) before applying, since a language fit says nothing about whether you may license the records.
