# License Google Drive data to AI: size, rights, value

> Googling how to sell Google Drive data to AI? A license starts with your Drive storage count. Troveo ranks the files buyers value. Google's terms set the route.

## The short answer

To license Google Drive data to AI, start with size and contents. A storage count helps you describe your records to a buyer. Troveo says buyers value SOPs, runbooks, proposals and specs most. Google's terms say you keep your rights. Rights inside each file and export route need review.

Drive is where a company's documents and sheets live. In [micro1](/buyers/micro1)'s account of its data partnerships, those are the deliverable half of a request-to-report chain.

## Does Drive size matter to micro1?

In [micro1](/buyers/micro1)'s account, Drive documents and sheets are the deliverable half of a request-to-report chain. micro1's pages state no data-size threshold.

A Drive total still helps you describe your records, and micro1's data manifest form is where you report the size. My [manifest form page](/answers/what-is-a-data-manifest-form) shows the step.

## Which Drive files does Troveo say labs value?

[Troveo's guide](https://www.troveo.ai/resources/license-company-docs-to-ai) sorts folders by what they show a model. SOPs, runbooks, proposals, specs and postmortems rank as worth licensing. Client deliverables depend on your client contracts. Marketing PDFs add nothing a model cannot already find. HR, payroll and medical folders hold nothing you may license, in [Troveo](/buyers/troveo)'s words, and come out first.

The same guide says folder structure and version history carry value, because a draft, its revisions and its follow-up show how work moved. Troveo is a licensing marketplace, so treat the ranking as its view.

## What do Google's terms say?

[Google's Workspace terms of service](https://workspace.google.com/terms/premier_terms/) say in section 5.1 that the customer retains all intellectual property rights in customer data. [Google's Workspace API user data policy](https://developers.google.com/workspace/workspace-api-user-data-developer-policy) bars apps that use Google's APIs from transferring or selling user data to data brokers and from using it to train AI models beyond a user's own.

My reading is that a service connecting to Drive through the APIs is the developer that policy addresses. I found no text on an administrator's own export, so counsel should read both documents. The [Slack export page](/answers/does-slack-allow-ai-companies-to-use-my-exported-data) shows the same question for another tool.

## What else sits in a shared Drive?

Files that clients and partners shared with you can carry their confidentiality terms. My [NDA page](/answers/does-my-nda-let-me-sell-data-to-ai) covers that, and [internal documents](/answers/sell-internal-documents-to-ai) covers the sorting. Figure: comparison of Three kinds of Drive folder, as Troveo rates them: SOPs and runbooks (emphasized: Troveo rates them most valuable, Among the most valuable), Client deliverables (Contract decides), HR and payroll (Nothing to license). Troveo rates SOPs and runbooks among the most valuable Drive files, and client deliverables depend on contracts.
