Is micro1 legit? The evidence

The short answer
micro1 Inc. is a real company. It publishes referral terms and a company-data page, and press reported a $500M gross annual run rate. Its data-partnership payouts are self-reported and no partnership contract is public. Read the terms, and have a lawyer read the contract, before you sign.
If micro1 has asked for a call about a data partnership with your company, the table below is what I would check first.
So, is micro1 legit?
A real company with published terms, wide press coverage and a large review record. Its data-partnership payouts are its own claims and no partnership contract is public, so read the terms, and have your lawyer read the contract, before you sign.
What can you check about micro1?
| Check | What I found | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Entity named | "micro1 Inc." appears in the referral terms and site footer. State of incorporation not found. | Referral terms |
| Terms published | Referral terms published, under California law with San Francisco courts. No partnership contract for data deals is public. | Same |
| Security claims | The data page says personal data is removed "when relevant," access is limited, pipelines are isolated and retention is limited. It names no certification. I cannot verify these from outside. | Data partnerships |
| Labs named | Described as frontier AI developers. Not named. | Same |
| Payout claims | Tiers of $100K or more, $500K or more and $1M or more. Its Enterprise Data Partnership listing says $100K to $2M+ for approved data packages. Self-reported. No testimonial from a partner company found. | Data partnerships and Enterprise Data Partnership listing |
| Press | $500M gross run rate, per a person familiar with the company. Founder named as Ali Ansari. | TechCrunch |
| Reviews | Trustpilot 4.7 from 10,684 reviews, profile claimed. The reviewers are mostly people micro1 interviewed for contract work, so the record says little about data deals. | Trustpilot |
What does micro1's own channel claim?
A micro1 referral partner made these claims in a micro1 video (self-reported, promotional, not verified by me). She earns from referrals.
- micro1 is an "extremely reputable venture-backed company" (about 12:46). Check funding in press and filings.
- micro1 trains all the frontier AI models with the data, with no lab named (about 1:50).
- A few months earlier a handful of companies were interested, and now hundreds a day are (about 19:12). micro1 has published no accepted-company count.
- Asked for the first question a company should ask before signing, her rapid-fire answer was who micro1 is (about 22:31).
What should a company check?
Start with the entity and the contract, because no partnership contract is public. Ask who de-identifies the data.
In the Spirit Airlines case, the court's ombudsman noted that micro1 proposed to de-identify the data itself and not use an independent party (Doc 1684). Fortune reported micro1's $12.5M offer.
micro1's current pages say 30 or more employees. An undated micro1 forum talk gave a lower, earlier figure, which is history. See our data licensing services page and the Spirit page.
Is the person introducing me paid by micro1?
They may be. micro1 runs a company referral program, so ask anyone who introduces you whether micro1 pays them. Our company directory lists micro1 beside its peers.
