How much do AI labs pay for company data?

The short answer

No public rate card exists. SimpleClosure reported nearly 100 deals at $10K to $100K per startup. Google won Spirit Airlines' archive auction with $10 million, and micro1 later offered $12.5 million. Handshake AI states $100K to $4M+, self-reported. None is a rate for your records.

Prices for company data come from bids, press reports and what buyers say about themselves. Here they are by payer, each with its date.

What did Google bid for Spirit Airlines' data?

Google won the Spirit Airlines auction with a $10 million winning bid, pending court approval. Mercor bid $7.5 million and was named the alternate bidder (ombudsman's report).

micro1 filed notice on 3 Sep 2026 that it would bid, and Fortune reported its figure as $12.5 million (Time, Fortune).

All three figures are offers for the same archive, so read them as one case. None is a completed sale.

The court has not approved the sale. The hearing was moved from 14 Oct to 6 Nov 2026 (Travel Weekly, 9 Oct 2026).

No sale order as of 10 Oct 2026. Our Spirit Airlines data sale page tracks the status.

What does SimpleClosure say shut-down startups get for their data?

Forbes reported, as Gizmodo relayed, that SimpleClosure had run nearly 100 deals in a year at $10,000 to $100,000 per company.

Mercor reportedly approached shuttered startups with offers of up to $300,000, according to a summary of The Information's reporting (BigGo Finance). That is a second-hand report of offers, not completed prices.

What figures do the programs state for working companies?

micro1's data partnerships page lists tiers of $100K+, $500K+ and $1M+. Its Enterprise Data Partnership listing says $100K-$2M+ for approved data packages (self-reported). Its CFO said in an undated recorded forum talk that deals near $2M are real.

Handshake AI states partnerships from $100K to $4M+, and Troveo says labs are paying "six figures" for company data exports (all self-reported). Troveo's own page says no public price list exists.

What do labs pay for simulated workplaces?

Epoch's interviews put website replicas near $20,000 each, a Slack-grade clone near $300,000, and single tasks at $200 to $2,000 (Epoch).

Those are prices for software environments that vendors build. Epoch's review describes app replicas and lab partnerships with product companies and does not discuss real company archives, so treat them as adjacent. See what an RL environment is.

What should you do with these numbers?

Use them as context for a conversation and not as a quote. The drivers a buyer prices are headcount, years of history, which systems you run and how clean the rights are.

Our pricing models page covers the four ways a deal can pay, and our guide to how much company data is worth lists what moves the figure.

The deals tracker logs each public price as it changes, and the free fit check starts from your headcount and years of records. Talk to a privacy or commercial lawyer in your state before you sign.
