Troveo vs Datarade: AI licensing or a data marketplace

The short answer
Troveo is a licensing marketplace that matches buyers and pays a revenue share on every sale. Datarade is a general data marketplace where providers list products and buyers request samples. Deals close off the platform. Datarade reportedly charges 30% commission on some plans. Troveo publishes no split.
People compare the two because both are marketplaces that sell data to businesses. Once you list something, they work nothing alike.
What does each marketplace do?
Troveo says it handles buyer matching, packaging and privacy review for the company data you license. It started with video and audio licensing and added business data in 2026, and it says you share in revenue on every sale.
Datarade says it lists data products from 2,700+ providers, charges buyers nothing and is paid by the provider when a purchase happens. Providers apply to sell, build a listing and respond to buyer requests.
Who buys through each one?
Troveo names no buyers for business data and describes them as frontier labs and AI startups. Datarade's buyers are companies sourcing sales, financial, consumer and other third-party data. Our page on the Datarade marketplace covers its listing model.
What does a provider pay?
Datarade's commission is 30% on one source, ZoomInfo's pricing page, which describes plans as quote-based subscriptions with usage fees. Another source lists 30%, 20% and 15% tiers by plan. Ask Datarade for the rate in writing.
Troveo pays you a share of each sale and publishes no percentage. Its guide puts full-company data at six figures or more, and cites an unnamed platform's baseline of about $5,000 for a single repository.
Who handles the deal?
Troveo describes four steps: scope, agree, package and get paid. Datarade's model stops at introductions, so you negotiate the contract, the price and the delivery with each buyer yourself.
Which fits which kind of data?
Datarade fits a company that already sells a clean, rights-cleared data product to other businesses. Troveo fits records of real work, such as tickets, email and CRM history, that a lab could use to train an agent. Rights come first either way, so use the rights check.
