The short answer

Troveo has a named CEO, Marty Pesis, a $4.5M seed round and a release saying it has paid over $20M to content owners. Its pages give two payout totals. Its revenue share is unpublished. Real company, real funding on record. Get the revenue share in writing first.

Is Troveo legit?

Troveo is a real company with a named CEO, a funding round on record and payouts it reports itself. Its revenue share is unpublished and its terms page returned 404, so get the split and the terms in writing before you sign.

What can be checked about Troveo?

Troveo started with video and audio licensing and added business data in 2026, so some totals cover work other than business data.

CheckWhat I found
Entity namedThe business-data page footer reads "Troveo 2026" and names no legal entity.
People namedMarty Pesis, founder and CEO, and Trent Krupp, chief revenue officer (NetInfluencer).
Funding$4.5M seed led by Seven Seven Six, with angels including Mark Pincus (NetInfluencer).
Terms and privacytroveo.ai/terms and troveo.ai/privacy returned 404. The footer links a privacy policy and support hub. Ask for the owner agreement.
Totals it claims"$20M+" on the business-data page and in a release, "$50M+" on the content-owners page with no date.
Revenue shareYou "share in the revenue" on each sale, with no upfront fees. The split is not published.
Buyers"Frontier AI lab," "AI startup" and "Mag 7 company." No named buyers.
Privacy claimNames, contact details, credentials and client identities are scrubbed "under one documented standard." The standard is not published, so it cannot be checked.
ReviewsIts Trustpilot page is unclaimed with no reviews. I found no lawsuit.

How big are the payout claims?

The $20M+ figure covers all of Troveo's licensing, which includes many video and audio rights holders, not only business-data owners. Its content-owners page says "$50M+" and shows no date. The pages I read do not reconcile the two.

Its guide states "typical deals start at six figures" for full company data and cites reporting on unnamed shutdown platforms for about $5,000 per repository and $10,000 to $100,000 per startup archive (Troveo guide). The six-figure line is Troveo's own claim.

How does Troveo describe its process?

What should you ask before sharing anything?

Request the owner agreement and the written scrubbing standard. Ask what share of each sale you keep, who the buyer category is and whether exclusivity applies. Troveo says exclusivity is time-limited and has to be earned.
